Coastal Urgent Care expanded its footprint in Southeast Louisiana on Feb. 1, 2024, when it acquired Doctor’s Urgent Care in Slidell. Located at 971 Robert Blvd., the clinic will continue operating under the Doctor’s brand until April 1, 2024, when it will become the sixth Coastal in the state. Clinic hours will currently remain 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 7 days a week.

“It’s been my privilege to serve the community of Slidell as the founder of Doctor’s Urgent Care for the past twenty-one years,” said Wade Estopinal, M.D., known to his patients and staff as Dr. E. “The business of medicine has become increasingly complex and more difficult to navigate over the years, however, and I recognized that I needed to partner with someone. After careful consideration and extensive research, Coastal Urgent Care stood above everyone else as the company with a mission most closely aligned with ours: the patient comes first. This decision allows me to continue to practice here focused entirely on patient care without the daily distractions of running the business.”

Jim Ashby, CEO of Coastal’s parent company, Community Care Partners (CCP), agreed that the clinics share a common purpse and added that patients will be happy to hear they’ll continue to see familiar faces when the rebranding process is complete.

“We are excited to welcome the providers and staff of Doctor’s Urgent Care to our company,” Ashby said. “From our first visit, it’s been obvious they are a high-functioning team dedicated to putting patients first. ‘We treat you well’ is Coastal’s pledge, and Dr. Estopinal has created a welcoming clinic where patients can find care that fulfills that promise. We are so glad the team has chosen to join Coastal and continue serving the community.”

Like the other five Coastal Urgent Care clinics in Louisiana, the Slidell clinic provides high-quality, non-emergency care. Urgent care treats people whose illnesses and injuries aren’t life threatening but can’t wait days or weeks for an appointment with a primary care provider. Many conditions fall within the clinic’s treatment capabilities, including minor fractures and lacerations, upper respiratory infections and allergies. The clinic is also equipped with diagnostic tools such as X-ray and EKG and provides on-site testing for flu, COVID-19, RSV, strep and pregnancy.

The Coastal Urgent Care in Slidell will also continue to offer occupational medicine services such as DOT and non-DOT physicals, drug and alcohol screening, audiograms and work-related injury management.
