Amy Surdam, FNP, LTC

At Coastal Urgent Care, patients have access to urgent care services — all delivered by our compassionate and collaborative health care providers. We are committed to providing walk-in services that meet the needs of our patients.

To complement our outpatient medical care and fulfill our promise to keep patients at the center of our universe, our unified medical care organization regularly posts on our blog.

Meet Amy Surdam

To provide you with the peace of mind you deserve, all our blog posts are carefully reviewed before being published on our site. No matter the topic, we believe our patients and readers should feel confident about our medical content.

This commitment is why Amy Surdam — who brings her medical educational background, years of experience in health care and health care credentials — reviews all our blog posts. Amy is both a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and military professional and has the qualifications to ensure consistent, medically sound content.

Educational Background

After graduating high school, Amy pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Wyoming. She completed this program in 1996.

Then, in 2002, she pursued her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program, also at the University of Wyoming. She graduated with her masters in 2004.

Experience in Health Care

Amy Surdam entered the health care field in 1996, serving as an RN/Office Nurse before moving on to the RN/Endoscopy Department then spending a majority of her time in the Emergency Department. After spending several years as an RN, Amy then pursued her Master’s Degree. While she was in graduate school, she held a faculty position at the University of Wyoming, assisting with facilitating the education of undergraduate nursing students in both clinical and classroom settings.

Her health care experience continued to grow and expand as she moved from serving as a Nurse Practitioner at Urology Care Clinic, Assistant Medical Director and Practice Manager for Frontier Medical Providers (FMP). Almost all of her career as a Nurse Practitioner has been in Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine.

She continues to be heavily involved in the health care field, serving as an LTC at the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) for the Wyoming Army National Guard and HI Reserves, and the former owner, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Family Nurse Practitioner of Stitches Acute Care. Today, Amy is the Medical Operations Director, CO/MT/WY of BestMed.
